Greg Gamble’s Hoops Special: 43-24 ATS

Who says you can't be over 60 and start in the NBA

Nobody torches the NBA like Double G. After a 3-0 performance last night (Indiana spread dropped to 4 with Jermaine O’Neal out), I’ve covered 9 of my last 10 and started to eye some property in the Hamptons. On a side note, The Answer, aka Bubby Chuck, looks smoother in baby blue and gold than Ali Larter with some whip-cream in Varsity Blues. I can’t wait for his corn-rolled partner to join him as the Nuggets might be the hottest ticket since New Edition got back together. And my Bulls, still struggling on the road should get some good home cooking and will look to run the very slow and very 1999 (Mourning, Payton, Walker, Williams, & Doleac) into the United Center floor. While the spread is a little high for tonight (I’ll probably still take…it’s on TV!), I will mention how I usually love warmer weather teams coming to cold climates…especially the first night on the road. You can’t tell me after chilling in Miami, Gary Payton wants to get out the bus to chase Kirk Hinrich and Chris Duhon. With that said, lets get to my picks because I’m hotter than a tea kettle and ready roll… www.insideplays.com

MILWAUKEE BUCKS (+1) @ MEMPHIS GRIZZLES
First off, anytime the Grizz are getting any less than 5 points…odds are I’m making a play against them. As for the Bucks, they’ve won 5-in-a-row, including last night in San Antonio, and are getting some unexpected and dominating performances from Charlie Bell and Mo Williams. While I’m usually scared taking a team the night after a huge win, the Grizz also played last night and got blown out in Washington. Don’t look know, but the Bucks are creeping in the East...Bucks by 6-12 points

WASHINGTON WIZARDS (-5) @ CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The Wiz are another smokin’ squad I’m going to ride until the wheels fall off. Check out the box score for Gilbert Arenas last night…who Kobe said shoots too much: 9-13 FGs 3-5 3pts 10-10 FTs 7 Assists. While Jamison and Caron Bulter get the rest of the hype, do not sleep on FA pick-up DeShawn Stevenson, not only does he have a kick-ass name by he’s shooting 52% from the field and 56% from behind the arc. Oh, and the Bobcats (who started Matt Carroll at guard last night!)…they suck…Wizards by 8-14 points

NEW ORLEANS HORNETS @ PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS (-7)
Poor Byron Scott, the Hornets were already without 3 of their top 5 scores last night (David West, Peja, and Bobby Jackson) and lost leading scorer and do-everything point guard Chris Paul to an ankle injury. As for the Blazers, they’ve gotten healthy and have been playing solid in recent weeks (not counting last night in Phoenix). If the Hornets don’t forfeit because of depression, I expect a blow-out…Blazers by 10-16 points.

HOUSTON ROCKETS @ NEW JERSEY NETS (-5.5)
I’ll give the Rockets credit, they looked decent last night against an O’Neal’less Pacers team…but did you see who they’ve got playing alongside the creaky back of T-Mac. I’m not even going to tell you because you won’t recognize the names. As for the Nets who are equally thin upfront, Kidd, Carter, & Jefferson, should have enough fire-power to sneak past a team starting the dinosaur that is Dikembe Mutombo in the middle…Nets by 9-15 points
