Ouch…I was hoping for Shrimp and Hennessey for lunch, but instead I’ll be sippin’ on some Boone’s Farm and warmin-up some Chx Picante Ramen. But as most prominent gamblers know, you must not dwell…only double up! I love the NBA tonight, especially with Kobe good and angry after the suspension and playing the CBA Celts, and I’ve also even found a few college gems after analyzing over 50 upcoming games last night. I’ll keep it short since most of you are not too thrilled with me today…but tomorrow I hoping to get more luv than Adam Orvi at his Bar Mitzvah.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS (-6.0) @ BOSTON CELTICS
Kobe was irate after being suspended for last night’s contest at the Garden and will be looking for some revenge tonight…I’m guessing he goes for at least 40! In addition, Odom was able to shake off quite a bit of rust in Mr. Bryant’s absence against the Knicks and it doesn’t hurt that the Celts might be the worst team in the NBA and Europe…Lakers by 10-15
DETRIOT PISTONS (pick) @ NEW JERSEY NETS
The Pistons have been struggling lately and desperately need a win tonight in New Jersey. As for the Nets, they just returned from a long road-trip out West (finishing 2-3) and surprised many with their play considering they only have two NBA players on the roster (Carter & Kidd). I’m guessing their tanks and knees will be a little weak and it doesn’t help that Vinsanity will be blanketed by Hamilton & Prince, while JKidd will have to deal with Chauncey and Lindsey Hunter…Pistons by 4-10 points
SAN ANTONIO SPURS (-4) @ UTAH JAZZ
Without Carlos Boozer and a gimpy AK-47, I’ve got to think it’ll be tough for Okur and Deron Williams to carry the load matched-up with Tony Parker and Timmy D. The Spurs have been playing down to the competition on the road lately, but Pop won’t let that happen against the great Jerry Sloan…Spurs by 8-14 points.
GEORGIA BULLDOGS (+1.5) @ TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
The Volunteers have lost 5 of 6, and more importantly, superstar Chris Lofton (22 ppg, 46% 3-pt) to an ankle injury, which has led to double digit loses at Ole Miss and Kentucky in their last two. As for the Bulldogs, they’ve quietly won 5 of 6 including victories at home against #25 Kentucky & #22 LSU and on the road at Arkansas. In addition, Vols coach Bruce Pearl is a douche-bag…Bulldogs by 5-11 points.
OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (-3) @ PURDUE BOILERMAKERS
One of these days the Buckeyes are going to blow-out some of the average teams in the Big Ten…and I don’t want to miss it. It doesn’t hurt that the biggest guy getting any minutes in West Lafayette is 6-7, which is not a good sign with the improving Greg Oden in town…Buckeyes by 8-14 points
SAN DIEGO ST AZTECS (-5.5) @ TCU HORNED FROGS
The Horned Frogs have lost 5 in-a-row by an average of 19 ppg, and should be a little down after blowing a 5-point halftime lead at Wyoming only to lose by 15 in their last contest. As for the Aztecs, they’ve probably got the best guard in conference with senior Brandon Heath and two big bodies in the frontcourt that TCU cannot match-up with. I know SDST has been shaky on the road this year, but tonight I have a feeling they’ll put it all together…Aztecs by 8-14 points
G. GAMBLE’S HOOP TOTALS- NBA 66-49 ATS ; NCAA 29-22 ATS
