I’m back BEEATCHES…thanks again to Money Mike for actually doing something for the first time in 6 months for the website…Solid picks Homeboy! As for my vacation, let’s just say that I wasn’t in Vegas and Goofy, Mickey, and the Epcot Center popcorn vender couldn’t help me with any luv at 4:20 poolside. Anyway, while most of my Big Dance picks bowed out in the Elite 8, I completely dominated the NIT bracket as West Virginia made me look like a genius. As for the NBA, my record is slowly crawlin’ back to dominance and I’ve got 3 more gems for ya tonight. They’ll be short and sweet, since I’m trying not to get fired from my real (boring) job after using up more vacation days that I don’t have! Have a good weekend Homeboys!
NEW JERSEY NETS (+6) @ DETROIT PISTONS
It’s playoff desperation time in the NBA and with the Nets coming off a dominating performance against the Pacers and holding onto one of the final playoff spots…I see another victory in their sites tonight. The Pistons had a tough battle in Chi-Town last night and have a roster that includes the flu-bug this week (Webber and Hamilton were out last night). This one means twice as much for the Nets and I’m guessing the Pistons just want to stay in one piece…Nets by 2-8 points
HOUSTON ROCKETS (-3) @ LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Unlike most teams set for the postseason, Van Gundy announced that he wants to increase Yao and T-Mac’s minutes down the stretch to get them ready for a playoff run. In addition, Battier should be able to slow down Kobe better than most, while the Lake Show only has the youngster Andrew Bynum to match-up with the Chinese Ming’anotor. Oh yeah, and don’t think Van Gundy doesn’t want to embarrass the ZENmaster at every opportunity he gets…Rockets by 6-12 points
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (+4) @ SACRAMENTO KINGS
The Clippers are barely holding onto the final playoff spot in the West and got somewhat robbed on a last second call at home Wednesday. As for the Kings, they already played well once this week so you definitely can’t expect that twice in a row. Elton Brand should have his way with the Kings frontcourt, while Chris Kaman looked horrible against Yao Ming and should actually be fired up tonight. In addition, Kevin Martin (probable) is still recovering from a little eye poke, and Ron Artest is still recovering from being a lil’ crazy!...Clippers by 4-10 points
