Can you say EIGHT STRAIGHT M*THA F*CKIN WINS FOR GREGGY G! I’m hotter than Connie Chung in '89 and even my Dry Cleaner greased my palm with some extra cash as I pick-ed up my silk shirts yesterday…Oh yeah, he’s a subscriber to the madness. While I’m sure some of you are waiting for the momentum to shift south, I asked my entrepreneur Homeboy Danny “I only go baseline” Sachs about life at the top of the food chain and he said: “Your NBA picks are like my air-tight water-bottles…they don’t drip money into my pocket, they just MAKE IT RAIN!” Now that’s what I needed to hear. I mean look at West Virginia’s former coach John Beilein, he used the NIT Championship and the support of Insideplays.com to make some major paper at Michigan. So with that, I’m gettin’ greedy today and making 5 plays on the NBA hardwood…for those of you not interested in bball, that also means I’ve got 5 beautiful ladies for ya as well. C-YA in the Hamptons Homeboys!
SEATTLE SUPERSONICS @ NEW ORLEANS HORNETS (-7.5)
The Hornets had an important win in Milwaukee last night and are closing the gap on the final playoff spot in the West. With two games remaining with the current 8th seed Clippers (who play tonight against Kobe), Byron Scott’s crew has the extra motivation to make them a solid play tonight and the rest of the season. In addition, they’re playing in Oklahoma City for one of the last times, while the Sonics are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Spurs last night and really don’t look like they give a ratz-azz anymore...Hornets by 10-16 points
UTAH JAZZ (-7.5) @ PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS
The Jazz are coming off an outstanding win at Houston Sunday and are trying to build some momentum as the playoffs approach. With a dominating frontcourt of Boozer, Okur, & AK-47, I think the Blazers are in lot of trouble since Zach Randolph is out for the season and LaMarcus Aldridge just got realized from the hospital. In addition, Coach Sloan will make sure his boyz don’t come out sluggish, while I have a feeling Coach Cheeks won’t hesitate to give every youngster on the roster plenty of minutes tonight…Jazz by double digits
SACRAMENTO KINGS @ DENVER NUGGETS (-7.5)
The Nuggets are finally playing some inspired ball and look like a team that could really scare some of the big-boyz in the playoffs. In addition, their returning home after blowing out the Sonics on Sunday and coming thru with an important win last night against the Lakers...oh yeah, and they'll be playing on ESPN tonight in-front of a riled-up home crowd. As for the Kings, they’ve only won 11 games all year on the road, have the slowest non-threatening frontcourt in the league, and just lost a tough one at home last night to a Nowitski’less Mavs squad…Nuggets by double digits
CHARLOTTE BOBCATS (+7) @ WASHINGTON WIZARDS
With Caron Bulter out, the Wiz tried to guard Gerald “the new Matrix” Wallace with Jarvis “I only play half the floor” Hayes last night and he proceeded to drop 34 & 14 in the Bobcats 20 point win. I know the Wizards will be looking to redeem themselves tonight, but the Cats o Bob just got Emeka Okafor & Brevin Knight back and seem determined to send lame-duck coach Bernie Bickenstaffenheimer out on a good note. Not to mention, I haven’t even discussed the great Walter “Fabio” Herrmann…Bobcats in a buzzer-beater
GOLDEN ST WARRIORS (+7.5) @ HOUSTON ROCKETS
This game makes or breaks the Warriors season, while the Rockets are coming off a devastating home-loss to the Jazz that affected their 1st round home-court chances. Besides the fact that Baron Davis should score 40 points on Rafter Alston (if he doesn’t cast-up 25 from behind the arc), for some odd-reason I’m a closet Warrior fan and will be rooting for Donny Nelson and his 22 swingmen in my Golden St. Zubaz tonight…Warriors in a buzzer-beater.
