It’s hotter than Alyssa Milano in Poison Ivy 2 today! I need some covers on the diamond just to pay for my central-air…I mean when your condo is the size of Puffy’s, it takes a lil’ more than a rookie contract to get her cooled! Anyway, pretty boring day in the sports world yesterday, so much so, I even skipped Sportscenter and watched my Tivo’d “Girls Next Door” marathon last night. Think I can get my girl to paint-on her next party outfit…yeah, probably not. Have a splendid Sunday Funday fellaz, you know I will…cause $10 pitchers of Watermelon Vodka Lemonades and a Golden Tee machine are callin’ my name!
BOSTON RED SOX (-140) @ DETROIT TIGERS
Dice-K (10-5, 3.53) has only allowed two runs in his last four starts and pitched a complete-game against the Tigers back in May. As for the Tigers Southpaw Nate Robertson (4-6, 4.86), he’s only averaged unda 4 ½ innings in last 8 starts and was knocked around for 9 hits in 5 innings earlier this year against the Red Sox. Also, Boston hits much better against lefties (.282) and should be desperate to pull-out the finale today...Red Sox by 3-5 runs
CHICAGO CUBS (-1.5) (-105) @ PITTSBURG PIRATES
The Cub bats finally came alive yesterday, while Big Z has been immortal since using Barrett’s face as a catcher’s mitt. I definitely got burned by Pirates lefty Shane Youman in his first start this season (6 inn, 8 hits, 2 runs), but then again, he wasn’t dueling with my Homeboy Zambrano…Cubs by 3-5 runs
PHILADELPHIA PHILLES @ COLORADO ROCKIES (-140)
Rockies righty Aaron Cook has been as efficient as any starter for Colorado ova the last two years, and proved it in his last start goin’ 8 strong at Coors and only allowed 2 earned runs. Also, Colorado’s line-up is as dangerous as anybody’s lately and they seem determined to head into the All-Star break with a six game winning streak. As for Phillies starter Adam Eaton (5.67), he’s sucked this year and hasn’t pitched in Coors…how you think he’ll fair their today…Rockies by 3-5 runs
