Oh yeah professionals and amateurs…it’s Money Mike back from a long vacation ready to get this NFL season going! Hope everybody had a great summer and ready to make some money! Mad love to my boy GG for holding it down while I was gone. He has been doing a great job. One other thing I would like to mention before I get to the picks for the day……..the founders of Insideplays.com are in the process of ramping up things and bringing you more great info to this site in the coming months so continue to tell your homeboys and homegirls about us so we can make this site bigger than ebay!
Any way, lets get to the football…….fantasy football that is! I am so tired already of people talking about their fantasy strategies and how great their fantasy teams will be. With that said, What position should an owner really pick first? A QB, running back or receiver? While these questions are important, the real question you should be asking yourself is if my main QB, RB or receiver goes down (and they will go down), can I get through a couple of weeks without him and play .500 ball until they come back? The answer to this question to many times is no. So in essence, while your trying to figure out who to take first as your #1 guy…..you should also be worrying about who is going step in and hold down the fort for your squad while your favorite player nurses his strained hammy, knee and ankles. Those 3 games in the middle if the season you lost because your boy went down with a bad hammy will doom your squad.
So Basically I got 5 guys for your fantasy analysis that have the potential to put up great numbers and are probably good picks but also have the potential to get hurt and not be able give you %^$@&*! For several weeks. So, if you pick these guys you better have a good backup!
Tough as nails, but starting to break down. Keep a good back up if this ends up being your main QB.
Packers fans feel me on this one. Ironically, he was hurt last night in the preseason game against Jacksonville. Very good receiver but has had trouble staying on the field the last two years.
All small running backs (aka: Willie Parker, Brian Westbrook, Warrick Dunn Cadillac Williams) and any other tiny tots I may have forgotten. All of these guys I love and are tough, but the pounding of a 16 game season takes more of a toll on the little guys than it does on the bigger backs. Especially guys who rely on speed and quickness to be effective.
The starting backs for the Oakland Raiders: This offensive line is bad. Just ask Aaron Brooks! They will get their guys killed this year. QB’s and RB’s for the Raiders beware!
No where else on the net do you get knowledge like this for free..... so keep coming back.
As for the baseball picks for the day this is what I got for ya:
Minnesota -1 ½ @ Baltimore
Santana is taking the hill today and he was lights out in his last start. Don’t expect the squad the Orioles are putting on the field to hit him either.
Cleveland -1 ½ @ Kansas City
Cleveland has finally taken over first in the AL central, so don’t expect a let down this weekend at the hands of the Royals. This team is bad and CC brings the heat every start.
