*Greggy G’s College Football Picks: 8-5 ATS - NFL Picks: 6-5 ATS
Please tell me you guys have scene the Oscar De La Fishnet pictures (just search De La Hoya and Fishnet)…so much for the Golden Boy nickname! The craziest part is reading how all the tabloids are treating him like he’s Lance Bass or Doogie Howser…tell me you wouldn’t wear a wig, skirt, & boxing gloves in a hotel room if a hot chick asked you to before she did stuff you’d only heard about from your Hispanic friends. As for the Okla St. coach’s rant, the only reason it’s getting so much pub is because most columnists are so sensitive when one of their colleagues gets harassed. The truth of matter, I bet the writer dug-up some good stuff that has some validity, while the coach is simply backing his kid and probably didn’t like that some inside-stuff was leaked. And finally, the rooftops in Wrigleyville better put some Michael Sweetneys around the foundation in case they get some jumpers. I give the Brew Crew a 20% chance of catching Lou’s boys, maybe even 35% if the Cubs actually send Trachsel to the mound to closeout the Marlins series. With that, I’m gonna finish up my Thursday College picks and my NFL rankings, so until then…enjoy my three MLB winners and my three girlfriends wearing beautiful outfits!
ATLANTA BRAVES @ PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
The Braves have won 9 of 11 and seem more relaxed than ever with their playoff hopes barely alive. If anything, a sweep of the Phillies will enable Hot-lanta to head into the off-season knowing they knocked-out a division rival from the postseason. Tonight, the Braves will be sending their ace Tim Hudson (16-9, 3.34) to mound, while the Phillies will be starting the much traveled Kyle Lohse (8-12, 4.71). With the Rockies having won 9 in-a-row and now even with Philly (they both trail the Padres by a game), expect them to be pressing…especially if they get down early this evening…Braves by 3-5 runs
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS @ MILWAUKEE BREWERS (-1.5 Runs)
The Brew Crew is playing as if they have nuttin’ to lose and only trail the Cubs by 2 games after dropping 22 runs on the Cards in the 1st two games of the series. As for the Cardinals, after their unexpected run about a month ago they’ve lost 16 of their last 20 and seem already packed for winter vacation. As for the pitching match-ups, the Cardinals send part-time starter Brad Thompson (7-6, 4.96) to the mound, while the Brewers will use new found ace Carlos Villanueva (8-4, 3.97). Throw-in that the Brewers have the best home-record in the NL and this seems like easy pickins…Brewers by 4-6 runs
COLORADO ROCKIES @ LOS ANGELES DODGERS (OVA 8.5)
During the Rockies remarkable 9 game win-steak they’ve averaged over 7 runs per game, and yesterday, managed 9 runs and 14 hits even with Brad Penny as the starter. Tonight, the face Brad Lowe who they knocked out after 3 innings, 8 hits, and 6 runs just 6 days ago. As for Colorado’s hurler, Josh Fogg (9-9, 4.99) hasn’t pitched more than 5 innings in his last 3 starts and may feel the pressure of keeping the Rockies playoff hopes alive…Rockies/Dodgers 12-16 total runs
