Supposedly, my wingman at the wedding Saturday night was told by the groom to get me out before I knocked over another old lady...what can I say, I think those two 32oz. White Russians for breakfast was my downfall. And speaking of downfall, how about the defense formerly known as Da Bears…I think Brian Urlacher is still stuck behind FB Tony Richardson and Adam Archuleta is still stuck not being very good. While Devin Hester once again proved he’s the only playmaker on the squad, it also proves that GM Jerry Angelo has no idea when it comes to drafting or signing WRs. On a positive note, how about Cyclone great Sage “Joe Montana” Rosenfels (11-12 82 yards, 1 Td, 0 Int) looking smoother than Joe Cain from the Program during mop-up duty for the Texans...too bad his alma mater looked like a monkey Asia Carerra’ian a football against the Longhorns. I never thought I’d say this, but I miss Dan McCarney…and the party-animal known as Larry “Natural Light” Eustachy, but who doesn’t!
NEW YORK GIANTS (-5) @ ATLANTA FALCONS
The more I research this game the more I don’t see how the Falcons can stay close. With an OLine devastated by injuries, the Falcons will be starting two youngsters at tackle that have never started a game in the NFL at tackle, as well as, a rookie at left guard. Throw-in the immobile Joey Harrington, who will also be looking over his shoulder at the overweight and slow Byron Leftwich, and this one could get ugly in a hurry. On the Giants side, Eli Manning has looked more confident with each week and now has a two-headed rushing attack with the power of a healthy Brandon Jacobs and the cutback wonder Derrick Ward. With the balanced attack on offense and a defensive that has gotten better and better under new coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, the Giants will control the clock and enable the defense to rest-up for each series. Finally, the Falcon veterans have been bitching about new head coach Bobby Petrino and the youth movement he seems to be creating, and will definitely pack-it-in once things get even slightly out-of-hand.
Final Score: GIANTS 30 FALCONS 13
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS @ COLORADO ROCKIES (-1.5 runs) (+105)
The Rockies are unstoppable right now and would luv to finish things-off with a sweep. D-backs starter Micah Owings (8-8, 4.30) hasn’t pitched yet in the post-season and didn’t even pitch against Colorado at all this season. As for the Rockies phenom Franklin Morales (3-2, 3.43), while he struggled in his only post-season start this year (3 IP, 3 Hits, 3 ERs), we was one of the main reasons the Rockies captured a playoff spot over the last month of the season. I expect a much better performance from him tonight, especially against a team that really can’t hit shiznit
Final Score: ROCKIES 6 D-BACKS 3
On a bad weekend for Iowa State, at least Sage Rosenfels had a good day!
