ATS Picks - MLB: 115-91 NFL: 12-9 College: 10-15
I’m usually not the kind of guy into teasers…unless it involves her wearing a Chuck Norris outfit and the use of Gold Bond (Wasabi scented), but tonight, I’m feeling frisker than a Lohan at a rehab center and look forward to hoppin’ on T-Bone’s Teaser bandwagon. BTW, if you don’t know what a Teaser is, you shouldn’t be at this website and should take all your sporting advice from Stuart Scott and Skip Bayless. With that, let’s take a peak at some Thursday Night football action and continue to pillage our favorite bookmakers…
UTAH UTES (4-3) @ TCU HORNY FROGS (4-3)
*Teasing the Utes from +3.5 to +9.5
The Utes early season struggles were merely a mirage, as it happened without do-everything QB Brian Johnson. After separating his shoulder in the opener, Johnson returned as the starter 3 games ago and Utah has scored 101 points, including a Friday Night victory at Louisville. In addition, since his return RB Darrell Mack has been redonkulous going from averaging 74 ry/g to 142 ry/g as defenses can no longer stack the box (I don’t know why, but I just got a halfie writing that). As for TCU, they’ve been up and down all year (loses at @Air Force & @Wyoming) and are still trying to find a rhythm under freshman QB Andy Dalton. While TCU has the potential to be a solid team the 2nd half, this one has all the makings of a Thursday Night classic. And you know what that means, taking almost 10 points sounds like a better plan than deciding not to barrow Nate Newton’s Truck for the weekend!
SOUTH FLORDIA BULLS (6-0) @ RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS (4-2)
*Teasing the Bulls from -3 to +3
While the Bulls have only won twice on the road this year, one of those wins game at then #17 Auburn (26-23), and last year, they closed-out the regular season with a stunning win at #7 West Virgina (24-19). While teams like the Ohio State Buckeyes sit undefeated having played just as many MAC teams as Bowling Green (no joke), South Florida has already knocked-off Auburn and West Virginia. Sophomore QB Matt “the Mohawk” Grothe has been ridiculously efficient both with his arm & legs, and could be the best team-leader in all of college football. Throw-in a defense that’s ranked 10th in the nation in points allowed & total yards, and last week, held the nation’s leading rushing to 55 yards and a 3.1 avg (Kevin Smith UCF), and I can’t see how you don’t drool like Travis Henry in Amsterdam getting a few points. As for Rutgers, many don’t realize they lost 9 starters from last year, including the best college fullback we’ve seen in years (Brian Leonard - Stl Rams), and still are stuck with Mike Teel at QB who only plays well against the bottom feeders. Of course RB Ray Rice is back and been awesome, but as I told ya, the Bulls defense owns the ground like MJ owned the white chicks on the road. While I’m predicting a straight-up win, it doesn’t hurt to give yourself 6 points when you have the following gem on the same night…
Final Score: BULLS 27 RUTGERS 24
Final Score: UTES 31 HORNY FRONGS 30
BOSTON RED SOX (-125) @ CLEVELAND INDIANS
I’m rooting for the Tribe, so what better way to insure a positive outcome no matter what. Sabathia has been horrible this post-season with 10.61 ERA in two starts, while Beckett has been even better than he was during the regular season (2-0, 1.20). I know C.C. had a solid season, but I’m guessing the 485 lbs he’s carrying has taken a toll on him. Finally, even if the Sox are trailing by 1 heading into the ninth, you know Joe Borowski will make things interesting.
Final Score: RED SOX 5 INDIANS 3
