TEASIN’ T-BONE'S FIVE STARS LOCKS
October football reminds me of Missouri fellas, where the men are men and the sheep are nervous. The sheep this weekend are the road dogs that can’t seem to keep their nerves in check and play at the elite level needed. Football is great in October as the chill is settling in, but sadly, it also means less skin from our favorite coeds. If you are like me livin’ in the North, bet the Southern games to get your sweet teen fix, and I am closing my eyes….now.
Georgia Tech @ Miami -3
The Jackets and Canes are actually a pretty even match-up in this one, GT runs a little better and Miami passes a little better. This one comes down to who wants to play amongst the big boys at the top of the ACC. Coach Randy Shannon has proven to be steady at home(4-0) and is putting pride into playing at the Orange Bowl. Kyle Wright provides the senior leadership needed to pull this one out while Taylor Bennett, GT’s signal caller, continues with his 50% completion rate and watches his team lose 7 out of their last 10. Miami by 9.
Colorado @ Kansas State -5
This one has two driving stats that stick out like Carrot Top in a Leave It To Beaver episode. The Buffs are unproven on the road winning only 1 of their last 10, and they leave their d-backs in Boulder every time they travel, giving up 340 passing yards on the road, that’s looser than (insert best friends mom’s name). The Wildcats cruise up and down the field throwing up 400 passing and 40 points, the Buffs go home 4-3. KSU by 12.
Central Florida @ South Florida teased down to -5.5
Are the Bulls really a #5, maybe not, but I learned early that you ride the bull until you fall off, and it won’t be this weekend against CF. Grothe and company have too much going for them to have a let down at home. SF by 10.
Oregon State @ Cal teased down to -8
The Beavers are going to run into a buzzsaw this weekend in Berkeley. The Bears come in fresh from a bye week and Coach Tedford has ensured that the focus is on this game. Cal has to prove to the nation they deserve to be near the top, so they will continue to run over Bucky Beaver until the clock runs out. Cal by 17.
I also like the Gamecocks teased down to -1.5 on the road, their D is going to stifle a lame 2-4 NC squad in this intra-Carolina match-up...just pick your favorite and tease it with'em!
