I awoke this morning severely hungover and began my Saturday routine. A bottle of water and several pain killers. But this morning was different, I felt like something else had to be done to get me over the edge. So like a true degenerate I grabbed my laptop, pulled up the lines and sat on the toilet until my legs went numb. I can honestly say that I feel fantastic and it will become a staple to my morning routine, now I am just impatiently waiting for my wife to look the other way so I can slip some vodka in my lemonade. Well, on to my picks straight from the porcelain and don’t forget about Greggy G’s money locks on the previous post.
Kansas -6 @ Oklahoma State
While studying this one I went back to two components…first, the grueling schedule that the Cowboys have played recently(3rd straight ranked opponent and all nailbiters), and second, the big fella in Lawrence has to regain trust in his defense again. You can bet that there was a lot of focus on the D after giving up almost 40 to Nebraska. I’m talkin’ wind sprints, the sled, and up downs all week long. The Jayhawks will hold OSU under 20 just so they won’t have to go through another week like that again. For the Cowboy faithful, unfortunately they see their team run out of steam today. They are tired, spent, and just can’t keep up in this track meet today. Kansas by 17.
Minnesota @ Iowa teased down to -9
While I have stayed away from the Hawks this year because of their numerous deficiencies at WR, I have become very confident in their home D as the year has progressed. Kinnick will be absolutely rockin’ today as Iowa will become bowl eligible, and with Floyd the Pig at stake, Kirk ‘The Captain’ Ferentz is going to open up the offense and demoralize the lowly Gophers like a freshman coed doing the walk of shame(you know what I’m talkin’ about). I am more impressed with this tease knowing that Sims & Young has lead the Hawks to averaging 25 pts/game at home and we all know Minnesota won’t post more than 10 against this D. Iowa by 14.
Colorado State @ New Mexico teased down to -3
The Rams are double horrific this year and can’t even post a close score with anyone. They have lost most recently by 19, 24, and 24 respectively against teams that the Lobos have either beaten or played tough. Lets break out the gambling calculator….CSU loses to Air Force by 24 and NM beats Air Force by 3, that tells me the line should be 27 so the tease is like finding a greenback in your winter coat from 9 months ago. The Lobos are fighting for the #2 spot in the Mountain West and a much better bowl payout, so they make quick work of the Rams. NM by 10.
