Friday Night Homeboys….which means Greggy G is cuddling-up with the lady and a cocktail that makes the lips burn, and flipping through the NBA package like I’m Sage Rosenfels flipping through NFL secondaries. Take it light and don’t forget to check out Teasin’ T-Bone tomorrow and "The Daily Rant" after my picks.
SACTOWN KINGS @ PHILLY 76ERS (-4.5)
With a new GM looking over the Sixers like a fat 50 year-old looks over the roster at the Bunny Ranch, the youngsters have been playing inspired and unselfish ball in route to a 4-game win streak. As for the Kings, they haven’t won on the road all year and don’t have the bodies (Bibby, Martin, & Abdul Rahim out) to compete with a young squad like Philly. Especially looking at the match-ups tonight, I can’t see how Cheeks doesn’t push this to a double-digit victory. Iggy’s the complete package on the wing (18 ppg, 6 rpg, 5 apg) and can handle the aggressive/poor-shooting display from Ron-Ron…Andre Miller’s strength of heading to the whole will have an easier time than MJ at a Blonde Bombshell Convention against Beno Udrih…Sammy D will look twice as athletic against the veteran frontcourt of Mikki Moore & Brad Miller…all they while, Korver & Green will be spotting-up while Reggie Evans grabs Sactown sacs. Throw-in the best young guard the average fan doesn’t know about (21-year old Louis Williams: 11 ppg 4 apg 45 3pt% in only 21 mpg) and I’m guessing all be rolling this investment into a West Coast contest later tonight…Sixers by 8-12 points

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS @ MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (-4.5)
Have you seen the Clippers roster lately? Their actually giving big minutes to Spartan Paul Davis, Zager Dan Dickau, and have to play Tim “I’m afraid of the paint” Thomas at Power Forward. Sure C Chris Caveman and F Corey Maggette are legitimate ballers, but having a starting backcourt of Brevin Knight and Q Mobley is not going to keep you in many games. While the Grizz are still learning a new style of play and are riding a nice losing streak, they’ve shown flashes of top-tier play with each passing game and should have the match-ups, especially in-front of the home-crowd, to roll tonight. Kyle Lowry is a penetrating machine who will find no resistance against Knight or Dickau, while Darko, Gasol, Warrick, & Swift will dominate the boards only having to worry about Kaman. I know it’s tough to play a team in the middle of a 5-game skid, but once they get-up tonight, I have a feeling Rudy Gay, Mike Miller, & Juan Carlos’s deep balls will find the twine to blow this thing open…Grizz by 10-14 points
NBA TEASER SPECIAL
MILWAUKEE BUCKS (teased to +17) @ BOSTON CELTICS
ATLANTA HAWKS @ DETROIT PISTONS (teased to -6)
The Bucks were one of the hottest teams early-on, but went south for a couple weeks and seemed like a completely different squad. Fortunately, they regrouped at home Wednesday and rolled the Magic by 14, and more importantly, looked like a team that’s a solid 8-deep with a top-tier star in Michael Redd. Tonight, they face the talk of the NBA in Boston, but I can’t see how they don’t keep this thing respectable against a Celtic squad that really hasn’t been tested on the schedule. Especially, with their lack of depth and the initial excitement of the Big 3 wearing off, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Doc’s threesome tire like an aging adult-film star during the final scene of a 3-hour flick. Look, I’m not saying the Bucks will pull this out…I’m just saying their too talented to lose by 17! Even if Boston gets up early, they don’t have the bench to sustain a huge lead against a team that has ballers up-n-down the roster...Celtics by 7-11 points
The Hawks don’t have a deep frontcourt to start with, and will be without their best low-post defender and consistent rebounder in Al Horford tonight. In addition, last year’s starting C Zaza Pachulia has missed the last 5 games with post-concussion symptoms, while Anthony Johnson is still their starting PG. As for Detroit, they finally have everybody healthy, and always look sharp at home coming-off a loss (@HOU 80-77). Trust me, no team in the East has a bigger chip on their shoulder to prove their still title contenders than Flip’s crew. With the emergence of the Celtics and the King James experience last post-season, watch as the Pistons quietly climb to the top of the East by season’s end…Pistons by 11-15 points
"The Daily Rant"
So what was the point of this thing anyway? Throw only some of the players under the bus? Bogus if you ask me. The only real affect will be a rise in ticket prices to pay for it.
Did Al deserve a 1 game suspension for the foul on T.J Ford? C'mon NBA, that was in appropriate....it wasn't intentional.
Game to watch:
LA Lakers @ Golden State Warriors 10:30 EST
Talk you Monday....enjoy games!
