Let me start this weekend by posting my props to Greggy G on a great last 7 days(12-6, was 11-2). The man is on fire and showing us that last years record of 50 games above .500 in the NBA was not a fluke. As for me, I fell asleep during the front half of the week and decided to start riding Dr. Gamble on Thursday night….needless to say Sharky has more of my lettuce than I would like this morning. So focus is needed today, and I have found some lines that leave me scratchin’ my head. And don’t forget that January was dedicated as whiskey & rocks month, so make this last weekend worth it. Good luck today my fellow fanatics!
The Flyers are coming into this tilt at 14-3 and on a 2 game slide(the Xavier buzzsaw did not treat them well), but teams like this who know they are on the big dance bubble understand that they need to post as many road ‘W’s as possible. So when you get past the absolute need to not drop 3 in a row, you will see that Dayton throws up way more points, averages 10 more boards a game than the spiders, and are shooting close to 50% from the field. BTW, Richmond is coming off 7 days rest and like every other team it will take the first half just to get rid of their sea legs, by that time big D will be up by double digits. Flyers by 11.
Saint Mary’s -9 @ San Francisco
I love my Saint Mary’s Gaels and today against the Dons of San Fran this one will be in the bag by half. And when you have a senior guard by the name of Tron Smith, how can life get any better. To make it worse, even during Saint Mary’s mediocre years of past, they absolutely own the Dons by winning 7 of their last 8 against them. So with SF posting a dismal 5-13 record so far this year, do you actually think it is going to be any different this year? Gaels by 15.
TEASIN T-BONE TEASER SPECIALS
Georgetown teased to +6.5 @ West Virginia
This one threw me a bit sideways when I saw it, in fact I closed my eyes, took a drink(I’m on Templeton Rye and Gingerale, this is my new crack), and looked back at the screen thinking I would be seeing a ‘-‘ sign between the Georgetown and the 2.5, but I still saw the ‘+’ sign. Although I am a little nervous because the Morgantown winter heroes are trying on the Cinderella slipper, I come back to one thing in this one….history, the Hoyas are the perennial power that continues to be proven and their coaches and players know how to use the nerves to their advantage, WV on the other hand has no experience and only losses in big games like this. I like Georgetown straight up so 6.5 makes my smile, call Sharky, and kick back in the recliner. Hoyas win by 1.
Arkansas teased to -.5 @ LSU
LSU is simply horrific, I don’t know how to else to explain it. They seem to play even worse at home. Throw gambling math into the mix since the Razorbacks beat Auburn by 4 at Auburn and LSU lost to Auburn by 7 at home. That is a straight up 11 points not including the home/road difference. Like a stoner with a joint in his hand, I don’t need any more convincing on this one. Arkansas by 8.
