Today we break down the AFC west:
This is actually a pretty solid team. If they had stayed healthy during this years playoffs they may have given the Patriots a run for their money. With a year under their belt in the new system, players and coaches should feel more comfortable with each other; resulting in better offensive and defensive schemes, and better utilization of their franchise player L.T. A failure to get in sync early in the season hurt this team right from the start. One position the team should address is a secondary receiver to complement Chris Chambers. Other than that…this team should be back in the playoffs next year.
From top to bottom, this squad is not really good in any category. The cupboards are empty as far as talent goes on this team. Aside from Jerry Porter, an old Warren Sapp and JaMarcus Russell, who else is on this team? Al Davis will be hard pressed getting free agents come play across the bay until he shows a real commitment to winning.
Inconsistency on offense, lots of injuries and porous run defense killed this team. Address these problems along with consistent play at the QB position (step it up J Cutler) and this team should have an outside chance at a playoff spot.
Kansas City Chiefs:
Great running back but no real QB, top flight receivers, a garbage offensive line and a mediocre defense. 4 real problems…….and only a year to fix it? Barring a complete revamping by Herm Edwards and the crew, this team will be bad for awhile.
