Last Two Days - 5-1...We goin' Sizzler, we goin' Sizzler!
ATS HOOPS Overall – CBB: 32-26 NBA: 75-81
I’m still sick as shiznit, but had enough TheraFlu and Painkillers to make a few picks & pics. Make sure to check back around 3:00 for some additional ATS Luv as I just purchased a bottle of Dr. McGillicutty's and always perform better under his care.
INDIANA PACERS @ TORONTO RAPTORS (-10)
The Raptors have been absolutely crushing people at home winning their last 4 contests by an average of 20 ppg, including a 17-pointer against the Magic. With deadly shooters and TJ Ford anchoring the bench, once Bosh and the boys take control the 2nd squad usually expands on the lead as the visiting team starts thinking about the flight back to the states. Tonight, Sam Mitchell’s crew face a Pacers squad they just beat in Indiana Monday and has lost their last two road contests by double-digits. While the Pacers are still playing with some playoff aspirations, the Raptors are sitting in a dubious-spot currently seeded 4th with King James right behind them. Of all the Eastern Conference teams...
Of all the Eastern Conference teams, the Raptors probably have the most desperation to move-up a spot, or at the very least, make sure they face the Cavs with home-court. As a result, look for Toronto to play inspirited ball over the 2nd half and continue to blow-out the bottom-feeders in East at home…Raptors by 14-18 points
WASHINGTON WIZARDS @ CHICAGO BULLS (-5.5)
While most of you know me as Bulls hater of late, I have a feeling with Deng & Gordon back and Gooden & Hughes looking for a fresh start some Ws will resurface at the United Center. Interim Headmaster Jim Boylan hasn’t lost the squad yet and everybody seems to have some newfound energy with the roster shake-up, not to mention, we have a few youngsters playing for some big-time contracts. As for the Wiz, news on Caron Butler’s injury keeps getting worse and Antawn Jamison is starting to look a little tired as his numbers have dropped over his last 5 games with teams doubling-him without fear of anyone else hurting them. In their last contest against the Ming’less Rockets, the Wiz lost by 25 and only managed 69 points in a listless effort. Tonight, with the young Bulls starting to open things up, I can’t see how they find the scoring options to keep up…Bulls by 10-14 points
DENVER NUGGETS (-12.5) @ LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
With Nuggets desperate to grab the final playoff spot in the West (currently a ½ game out), I expect to see more of the dominance we saw Wednesday when they rolled the Sonics by 44. George Karl has everybody healthy that is expected to garner minutes come playoff time and is finally getting some big-time contributions from JR Smith off the bench (last 4 games: 23 ppg, 47-3pt%). As for the Clippers, with the Cassell buyout drama, the fear that Brand & Maggette will both be gone next year, and the bad-back for Chris Kaman (questionable), dare I say the Clippers are in the worst spot they’ve been in for years. As for tonight, I can’t see them bringing the energy to compete with AI, Carmelo, Camby, & Co. to make this anything but a blow-out…Nuggets by 17-21 points
"The Daily Rant" By: Money Mike
Free agency in the NFL has started! How is gonna improve their squads, and who is gonna stand pat and give their fans nothing to look forward too?
My picks on the biggest movers and shakers this off season:
Teams that have made bad moves already?
Bears (re-signing Rex)
Somebody forgot to tell Avery Johnson that even though J Kidd has a broke ass jumper, he's a play maker...that gets your shooters shots in the clutch. Jason Terry going to the cup with the final shot was not a good shot! J Kidd said all the right things when asked about it after the game, but I'm sure he wasn't happy!
Games to watch tonight:
Utah @ New Orleans 8:00 PM EST
L.A. Lakers @ Portland 10:30 PM EST
