SEASON NCAA: (40-26)
Conference Tourney time is always interesting when your only concern is ATS. Today, we have a few matchups where a low seed has been riding a two or three day wave of success only to hit a top seeded wall of rocks. Read on to see who is gonna live to see another day.
Arkansas @ Tennessee -5
With an upset victory over Vandy last night, the Razorbacks got their 21st win and a ticket into the big dance. In this win they were forced to run the court more than their normal tempo and hit 80 points for only the 3rd time since early January. This doesn’t spell success when they get less than 24 hours to lace ‘em up against the run-n-gun high flying Volunteers. I do think that Tennessee’s ability to play 10 and not miss a beat will wear on Arkansas in the second half, and after a close call yesterday to the Gamecocks you can bet that ‘Tha Pearl’ will make sure to regain focus so that the Smiths and Loftons of the world walk into next Thursday on a winning streak. And don’t forget, the Vols pummeled them by 22 in the regular season. Vols by 13.
Tulsa @ Memphis -15.5
I normally like to stay away from large spreads like this, but I can’t avoid this one after looking at what the last 72 hours have dealt Tulsa….3 games, 2 overtimes, and a matchup with a Tiger squad that is arguably the best in the nation. So with tired legs and a relatively low scoring offense to begin with at 70 a game, I don’t see how this doesn’t lead to a 2nd half blowout with the double D’s Dorsey & Dozier snatching up the boards and the multiple ball handlers leading the break. Both regular season meetings ended in 15 point victories for Memphis so the difference in this one will be whether the emotion of Tulsa can override the mental & physical state of their bodies, I think the latter gets the nod today. In true T-Bone fashion….CDR me ASAP baby!!! Tigers by 23.
If you’re looking for something to provide some more action, I absolutely love both the Detroit Red Wings and Aneheim Ducks doubled up with any game that you like. What a great way to land a 3 team parlay!
Good luck and see you tomorrow for selection Sunday…..
