If you haven't been watching NBA basketball, you have been missing some good games. Yesterday afternoon was another possible playoff preview as Kobe went for 52 to carry the Lake-show to a win at home against the Mavs. Dirk tried his best to match Kobe; making some incredible shots over Lamar Odom playing blanket defense on the German the whole game. The win keeps the Lakers in the 2nd spot in the western conference. Dallas, only three wins out of first, sit at the 7th spot. The west is so tight it's ridiculous!
Alan Faneca, probably the best left guard in the league, left the Steelers and signed with the Jets over the weekend. Steelers fans are sad to see him go, but it was no way they could give both Roethlisberger and Faneca big money in the same year. With that said, Big Ben signed an 8 year, $102M deal over the weekend. That's big money folks. Hope the big contract doesn't affect his play like some other QB's I won't mention at this time. Congrats Ben!
L.T. BACKUP Michael Turner signed a 6 year, $36M contract with the Falcons this weekend. I don't know about you, but that's alot of money for a backup. I thought Jerious Norwood was the heir apparent in Atlanta after Warrick Dunn retires. Bad move Atlanta to pay a backup that much money.....you have to many issues at other positions LIKE QUARTERBACK to make decisions like that!
Moss is obviously pissed that the Pats are not giving him the money he wants. Word on the street he is trying to get a squad to take the old 1-2 punch that was so successful in in Minnesota. I know Culpepper is a risk, but I think this year the knee will finally be healed. I can name several teams I KNOW would be better than the combos they put on the field last year:
Minnesota (again)- Moss Culpepper and Adrian Peterson? T. Jackson isn't the answer!
Atlanta- (but If i were those guys I wouldn't go there)!
San Francisco- (Gore, Culpepper and Moss)?
Will any of these teams take a gamble on the dynamic duo? We will have to wait and see.
For a squad that spent alot of money in free agency last year they sure are being cheap this year. Letting Asante Samuel get away was a big mistake. This strategy will eventually bit them in the ass! In the mean time the Browns keep getting better and better. This team could be in a good situation for years to come if they stay on track with their plan.
Well after watching Michael Beasley this weekend their is no doubt in my mind who will be the #1 pick in the draft. This dude is a beast. He is a freshman who averages almost 27 a game in college! He is a 6-10 scorer who can post up and shoot it consistently from 3 range. His team is average at best ...but he is a monster.
By the way....he's right handed....but can shoot lefty with ease.
That's all for today fellas.....
Games to watch tonight:
Dallas @ Utah 9:00 PM EST
Greggy G should be all over this one....back to back for Dallas!
