MLB ATS 4:00 PM UPDATED VERSION

Just like my favorite Lasorda moment, I need to get back on my ATS feet after the Cubs failed 2 score 4 me yesterday.

But I'm not depressed about it. Just like Mark McGoop, I only look forward...and sometimes to my left and down!

But before we hit-up my picks, while I'm not a fan of Urlacher's mumbling-cocky attitude off the field, it was nice to see the Bears & him agree on reasonable renegotiation.
Because after all his crazy antics...

When healthy, he's a lot of fun to follow on Sundays...and that's important in a year when we're gonna suck!

TEXAS RANGERS (+160) @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX
To start, my deepest condolences to Mark Buehrle and his family on the death of his grandfather. While my selection of the Rangers tonight may seem cold-hearted, as always, an ATS selection from Greg Gamble is based solely on the dollar. As you’ve heard repeatedly from yours truly, the Sox will fade in the 2nd half as their starting pitching will be unable to continue their ridiculous performances, while the bats already seem to be gripped tighter as Ozzie and Kenny Williams seethe in the background. While Buehrle’s a fighter and one of my favorites (7-8, 3.69), he’ll be pitching on 3 days rest and with a heavy heart as his start was moved-up so he could attend the funeral. And if he’s able to honor his Grandfather with a remarkable outing, I’ll gladly pay the piper and tip my server a little less tonight. As for the Rangers hurler, while Luis Mendoza’s numbers are awful (2-3, 6.28), his last start was against the White Sox and he pitched his best game of the season allowing 3 hits, 1 BB, 1 run, while striking out 8 in j6 innings before the All-Star break. Sure the naysayers will tell you he may look rusty coming off more than 10 days between starts, but I’ll tell you his brimming with confidence and looking forward to mowing-down Konerko, Thome, & Swisher…Rangers by 2-3 runs
