Look for the Marlins to bust out 2night against Mad Dog
FLORIDA MARLINS (+105) @ SAN DIEGO PADRES
The Marlins snapped a 3-game skid in Colorado Sunday and should be thrilled to still only trail the Phillies by 2.5 games. I expect the momentum to carry over tonight, especially with the struggling Greg Maddux taking the mound (last 2 starts: 10.1 innings. 15 hits, and 14 ERs with more BBs than SOs). Even though the Marlins lost 3 of 4 in Colorado, it wasn’t due to a lock of offensive production as they averaged almost 10 runs per contest. While they won’t find the air as giving in San Diego, the combination of confident hitters and a struggling 42-year old pitcher should give the Marlins an early lead tonight. As for the hitting challenged Padres, Ricky Nalsaco (9-4, 3.94) has been getting stronger as the season has progressed (last 3 starts: 22 innings, 2.45 ERA, 20 SOs, & 2 BBs) and should have an easy time against a club hitting .247 & ranked 29th in runs scored....Marlins win by 3-5 runs

I'm guessing both squads will be standing at the plate w/ confidence facing these 2 pitchers
NY METS @ PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES (OVA 10)
While most of you know it, and I’ve mentioned it before, Pedro Martinez (7 starts – 7.39 ERA) is finito. With a fastball that’s no-longer dangerous, the 36-year old (yeah, right Danny Almonte) has been nibbling on the corners, and as a result, seen his pitch count skyrocket early in games. Over his last 3 starts, he’s only pitched 15 innings and allowed 17 ERs, 22 hits, & 7 BBs. Tonight, he faces a powerful line-up ranking 2nd in runs scored behind the Cubs and desperate to even this 4-game series. As for Phillies starter Adam Eaton (3-6 4.79), he’s seen his pitches slapped around the diamond more often the normal of late (last 5 starts: 30.1 innings, 40 hits, & 17 ERs with more BBs than SOs) and will be facing a Mets squad hitting .294 over their last 7 games. Especially after the emotional 12 inning contest yesterday, look for both squads to be dialed-in for the finale and jumping to the plate to face these two hurlers…Mets/Phillies total 13-17 runs
Just a quick weather report for my Chicago Homeboys, if you head outside this afternoon you may end-up looking like this
