I come into Sunday Funday with a bit of an overly zealous smile today cuz for the first time in 6 weeks Insideplays walked away with an undefeated Saturday. I have to say thanks to Spartans, Tide, Cavaliers, and Red Raiders for taking care of the business that they knew they could.
On the NFL side of the weekend, we are almost to the halfway point of the season and we have found many surprises so far. In the AFC, I bet that no one could have predicted the Pats & Colts with a combined 7-5 record, nor that the Titans would be the only undefeated team left in the league. As for the NFC, the East should be sending all four teams to the playoffs, but there happens to be this rule that says they must play each other, so unfortunately we may have to see the likes of Kurt Warner and Kyle Orton in January.
But lets not jump too far ahead, in fact lets stick with today, and Greg Gamble has a couple secrets up his sleeve that point directly to Jacksonville and Philly. To see his Sunday Plays, CLICK HERE! Now that you are done with Greggy’s luv, lets grab another drink and roll right into my winnas.
Buffalo -2 @ Miami
Buffalo is sitting atop the division with a 5-1 record, while the Fins are bringing up the rear at 2-4. So immediately I look at the 2 points and think that Vegas is simply asking the division leader to win against a team that has only won 3 of its last 25 games. On top of that, Miami has only won one of its last eight against the Bills, and are an amazing 0-5 ATS in their last five against Buffalo. So, I’m trying to tell you that not only is Miami horrific against the whole league, they are even worse when playing their division rival Buffalo.
But lets not talk about all this history, lets discuss what is a key for Miami to even stay close in this game, and that one simple phrase is ‘the running game’. In both of the Fins victories, they rushed for 167 and 216 yds respectively, and in their four losses, 49, 71, 72, & 96 yds. So the bottom line is that if Ronnie and Ricky don’t get the running game established, Miami doesn’t have a chance in hell of staying close. The good news for Buffalo is that they only give up 108 yds/game, and that is against several teams that actually have passing games to worry about. So the formula is simple, stack 8 in the box and make Pennington beat you with his 200 yds/game passing attack that yields only 1 tuddy every 60 minutes. Bills win a close one, 20-14.
St. Louis @ New England teased down to -1.5
The Pats have found their offensive groove after completely dismantling the Broncos last Monday night. Yes, the Rams have won their last two, but lets not forget that this game is in the chilly NorthEast, not quite like the friendly confines of a dome.
St. Louis/New England over teased down to 37
Like I said above, the Pats will win this, but both teams have found out how to score recently. So this may not be an all out shoot-out, but my guess is the winner has around 30, which makes this teaser cover a sure thing.
Pull up them socks and grab your best Britney school girl skirt, cuz another day of NFL action is right around the corner.
