Greg Gamble's 2008 Pigskin ATS - CFB: 5-0 NFL: 1-0

Before we get to my ATS PLAY of the Day, I have a few thoughts:

Call me crazy, but I'm betting Smokey has a nice season!

1. Does a NE (-10) Jet/Dolphin (unda 42) teaser seem like a lock today? Can't see how KC scores more than 10, and too much pressure for two guys still not used to the offense in Favre & Pennington.

Youngsters are always exciting, but newbies in the NFL sometimes have a lil trouble gettin' started!

2. Is Jon Kitna the sexiest man on turf and are the Lions (-3) destined to open the season strong (ATL starting a newbie under center) before collapsing like last year?

At Garcia's age & w/ an off-season trying to satisfy one of the hottest models not from Asia, does he have anything left?

3. With a healthy Deuce and Gaint castoff Mr. Shockey, do the Saints have too much fire power at home for Jeff “I’m not gay” Garcia?

With that out the way, let's hit-up my Play O the Day!

Trust me...Chris Perry is gonna be a beast this season!

CINCINNATI BENGALS (-3) @ BALTIMORE RAVENS
While most prognosticators believe the dark clouds will continue to hover over the Bengals organization like a fratboy ova a passed-out cheerleader, yours truly never took advantage of an over-served underclasshottie & believes they’ll battle the Steelers for the North title.

Even though Carson's had an unlucky preseason, sometimes unlucky things turn out ok!

Broken nose and all, Carson Palmer seems driven to prove the Bengals are more than a running penitentiary joke and knows their window of opportunity is slowing closing. As for the change in the backfield, after years of injury trouble Chris Perry enters the season rested and ready to prove he can carry the load behind a solid offensive line. The former Michigan star is excellent at reading his blocks, and once he sees a seam, has the rare combination of power and quick cutback ability.

The Bengals promised to have more of a business approach!

In the passing game, while Marvin Lewis is used to dealing with the drama, this year he’s also dealing with injuries to his two stars. But even dinged-up and without much practice, T.J. & Ocho Cinco are both expected to play and could probably run routes for Carson blindfolded. Throw-in the addition of former Colts TE Ben Utecht and the reliable hands of Perry out of the backfield, and I predict Palmer opens the season looking sharp. On the defensive side of the ball, while they’ve been a laughing stock the last few years, they are extremely aggressive and should look better than advertised against a rookie QB and new coaching regime.

The Ravens aren't very money under center!

The Ravens offense looked worse with each preseason game and probably will keep things simple for Delaware star Joe Flacco. On the defensive side of the ball, the once intimidating and dominate squad has aged, so look for the new staff to break in plenty of youngsters throughout the season in what will be a rebuilding year. Bengals look a little sloppy Sunday, but score too many points for Jim Harbaugh’s older brother to open his NFL coaching career with a victory.

Final Score: BENGALS 27 RAVENS 13

Insideplays picks: 2-2 - Personal picks: 6-4 - Parlays: 0-2

Teasers: 0-2 (I hit 3 of 4 & 6 of 7 on my teasers respectively, still a loss, but always lookin’ for that extra game)

Sing like Cookie Monster you degenerates & say "L" is for ladies (kind of shockerish, right)...that's good enough 4 me

As I have been studying the lines all week (and pickin’ up cabbage on Greg Gamble's Thursday night NFL), one game has stuck out as my 5 star and I have been digging for the last 3 days to find something wrong with it, and I can’t. I also have a couple others that seem to be anomalies, and you can guarantee will tie up my funds for about three hours, but don’t worry homies, it’ll all come back to me after the game.

I swear the Deacons are gonna roll...and I promise I didn't cross both tata's on this one Homeboys!

Ole Miss @ Wake Forest -8

Houston Nutt is primed for a spankin' walking into the Wake Forest crowd.

……. on both sides of the ball that they have improved over last year. I know they played Baylor, but they went to Baylor, they dominated Baylor up front and in the air, and most importantly they shut Baylor down with Baylor's speedster QB and the spread offense. And any time you can shut down the spread for a whole game it simply means to me that you are talented at all positions. Wake has been building a solid program over the last 5 years and is expected to contend for an ACC title with Clemson. So how is it that a team that is horrific can actually stay close? Do you actually think Houston Nutt can turn the program around in his 2nd game? Does Jenna Jameson actually have to push when she sits down to take a number 2? Watch Riley Skinner connect with Ben Wooster and DJ 'my brotha is Anquon' Boldin all day long. Folks, there is no way that WF will let this one stay close at home. WF wins 35-17.

The Owls will be dressed for success today against the Blazers....

UAB @ Florida Atlantic -13

Not many know much about either of these teams, which is why I luv what the vegas gods have to say. FAU is going to walk through the Sun Belt yet again this year. All the experts have them finishing the year at 10-2, one of those was last week, the other next week against Michigan State. FAU got out rocky against Texas, which will make them very hungry coming back home against a lesser opponent. I am even less impressed that UAB got smoked by Tulsa 45-22 at home. They are also expected to do just the opposite of FAU by going a stellar 2-10 in the wanna be major conference, the one, the only, C-USA. The Owls who aren't Temple win, 42-14.

Chizick and the Clones won't be caught again with their feet tangled in their uni!!

Kent @ Iowa State -7

After being embarrassed by Kent last year in the opener of his honeymoon season, coach Gene Chizick will not make the same mistake twice. It was obvious last week when they put up 44 points that he has more firepower than last year, and the defense played well except for two late gimme scores. The real reason I love this game, is that the Cyclones are finally able to get back to dominating in the trenches and controlling the game with their plethera of backs, 3 of which had over 50 yds each. On the Kent side, they bring back a 2 headed monster in Julian Edelman and Eugene Jarvis. These boys can play, and look to lead the Golden Flash all year, but leading a MAC team to a .500 finish isn't saying a whole lot. 'Clones put on another offensive display, and there is no way the defense gives up more than 20. Clones win...33-17.

...and like UPS he simply delivered the goods with style!

NAVY MIDSHIPMEN @ BALL STATE CARDINALS (-7)
While both teams rolled Colonial Athletic Conference teams (Northeastern & Towson) to open the season, Navy’s unwillingness to practice their passing game in a rout is somewhat disturbing to yours truly (4 attempts, 2 completions).

BTW, did you know 1 of the 5 solid players on the Bears, Brad Maynard, went to Ball State...that has to be a sign!

Along the same lines, ARIELLE KEBBEL (click here) did not.

Even though Ball State is not what you call a defensive stonewall, expect the Midshipmen to struggle with the change in size up-front after walking all over Towson. New Navy headmaster Ken Niumatalolo will once again be without option-star QB Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada again this week, so expect the Cardinals to make back-up Jarod Bryant beat them with his legs instead of the little engine known as RB Shun White who had a record-setting performance in the opener (19 carries, 358 yards). As for Ball St., after years of hanging in the cellar...(want more knowledge and hotties...CLICK HERE)

Don't turn your back on girl wearin' Ball St. colors!

As for Ball St., after years of hanging in the cellar Coach Brady Hoke has changed the culture in Muncie, IN and seen his squad improve their victory total in each of the past four seasons and finally took them to Bowl game last year (not exactly sure when the last one happened, but I have no interest to look it up). The biggest reason for even more optimism this season is the return of one of the most underrated signal-callers in the nation in Jr. Nate Davis. After a solid freshman season for Davis (18 TDs, 8 Ints, & 62 comp%), he exploded last year for 30 touchdowns, only 6 interceptions, and broke just about every passing record in Cardinal history.

When I was in college it was never cool to bet on Ball St. or look for Cougars at the bar, but now...I ain't in college!

While opening against Northeastern is not what you call a true-test, Davis was masterfully efficient completing 21 of 24 passes for 3 tuddies and zero INTs. As for a ground game that struggled the 2nd half of last year, the return of the diminutive MiQuale Lewis from last season’s 5th week ACL injury showed the Cardinals balanced potential. While the 5-6 junior has missed huge chunks of his first two seasons, he’s been remarkable when on the field with a 5.5 average in over 150 carries. And...just trust me on Friday Night BEEATCHES!

Final Score: BALL STATE 37 NAVY 24

And in my opinion, there's only one other person I know that looks better than Jacobs when healthy & wearing #27!

WASHINGTON REDSKINS @ NEW YORK GIANTS (-4.5)
Both teams are pretty banged-up heading into the opener, but with a new staff and offensive scheme for young QB Jason Campbell, the Skins may not be able to take advantage of the depleted D-Line of the Giants. After a rougher start last year than the opening scene for Krista Maze in Face Jam last, the Giants turned-up the intensity in the trenches and decided to become a much more physical team. Offensively, they began to pound teams on the ground with a rotation of backs and were able to loosen things-up on the outside for Plaxico & Co. Especially with Brandon Jacobs healthy to start this year, look for more of the same as NY plays with a chip on their shoulder tonight to prove they were not just a one-year wonder. While Clinton Portis should have a nice night as far as yardage, unless Campbell makes them pay early, look for the Giants to stack the box and keep Portis from breaking anything of significance.

Final Score: GIANTS 24 SKINS 13

For all the talk Perry is injury prone, the bruiser once carried the ball 50 times in a game for Michigan. As for this year in Cincy, I predict he'll be a superstar all season!

CINCINNATI BENGALS (-2) @ BALTIMORE RAVENS
While most prognosticators believe the dark clouds will continue to hover over the Bengals organization like a fratboy over a passed-out cheerleader, yours truly never took advantage of an over-served underclasshottie and believes they’ll battle the Steelers for AFC North title. Just like Palmer, she has a look of intense passion!

Just like her, when reviewing the line in the paper, I always put 3 X's on Pittsburgh to make sure I never play them!

BUFFALO BULLS (+14) @ PITTSBURGH PANTHERS
With all the preseason hype surrounding a Dave Wannstedt coached squad (I know that phrase doesn’t make sense), I smiled bigger than after my mushroom pizza in Amsterdam seeing the Panthers as a heavy favorite over a solid Bowling Green squad last week. And just like clock work and his time in Chicago, the mustached leader of Pitt was pacing the sidelines early in the 4th quarter already conjuring-up excuses for the press room. While a nice guy and better suited as a D-coordinator, I’ve never seen a football coach consistently looking more bewildered and nervous week-to-week in my life. Sure his NFL-pedigree has brought in some star recruits, but just like Newcomer Weekend at a Vivid Entertainment Pool Party, no matter how hot they may be, unless you have a director making them feel confident and sexy it doesn’t matter how many inhibitors you give them.

Just like her status in the "I'm hot as hell-Industry", Drew Willy has plenty of collegiate experience 2 make Wanny miserable!

So after the demoralizing double-digit home loss and non-stop media bashing all week, do you really think Wanny has the ability to fire-up the troops? As for their opponent and the exact opposite type of headmaster, Turner Gill has Buffalo believing they can beat anybody after miraculously winning a share of the MAC East title after only 2 wins the previous season. In addition, the Bulls return 18 starters from last year, including their battle-tested 6-4 Sr. QB Drew Willy (29 career starts), and looked dominate against a decent UTEP squad with an opening day win (42-17). Throw-in two headed rushing attack (last week: Starks 179 yards, Thermilus 102 & 2 TDs) and an up incoming star on the outside (WR Naaman Roosevelt: last week 154 yards & 2 TDs), and I expect the Bulls to be in this from start to finish.

Final Score: BULLS 31 PANTHERS 30

BTW, before I get too cocky, I must admit I was the laughing stock of my 2nd fantasy draft last night. With my 12th round pick I grabbed Ben "I broke my clavicle last Friday" Obomanu. And the punishment was well deserved: "And you have fantasy info on your website dipshit!" and "Your frickin' stupid!" and "Why the f*ck did you bring Icehouse tallboys to my house!"

HOUSTON ASTROS @ CHICAGO CUBS (OVA 7.5)
While Randy Wolf is 1-7 with 6.87 ERA on the road this season, his ERA is actually worse in his only starts against the Cubs this season (4 innings, 7 earned runs). As for Dempster, I'm guessing he's feeling the pressure with Harden & Big Z ailing and the Astros crushing everything in sight of late. Don't worry about the wind Homeboys...this one sails OVA by 3 or 4 runs!

This looks very much like what the Twins have seen lately from all the lefties...a little right shoulder luv!

MINNESOTA TWINS (+105) @ TORONTO BLUE JAYS
In one of the craziest occurrences of the season, the Twinkies will be facing their 7th straight southpaw tonight. Especially following an off day, I expect Gardy’s road-traveling crew to look even sharper against the Blue Jays 26 year-old lefty call-up David Purcey (8 starts: 2-5, 5.53). As for Minnesota starter, lefty Glen Perkins (12-3, 3.96) usually gets phenomenal run support when he’s on the mound, while in his only meeting withToronto this year allowed a paltry five hits and two earned runs thru six innings. Overall, the Twins have to be feeling great to be tied with the White Sox considering they’ve played 11 straight away from the Metrodome. With only three games in Canada to finish-up this crazy road-trip and the Wild Card shaping-up to be Boston or TB, look for a fired-up squad to win at least 2 of 3 from Cito Gaston. Twins roll

Some teams are hot, some are not.....but the ladies are plentiful!

Now that we are through the first big Saturday of the season, I think we all have a much better feel for who is going to the real deal and also who is going to be asking their sister to the prom. Let me recap a bit just so you understand where my head is at....

1. The Ohio State Buckeyes will be in the national championship game. Even if Beanie misses some time, they have a depth chart equivalent to Ron Jeremy. And did you see Terrell Prior? The guy is like silk, he appeared to be walking when everyone else was grabbing for air, he will be lethal by the end of the year. To read up more on the Buckeyes, click HERE!!

I think these ladies will be smiling all season long....
2. The USC Trojans defense is the real deal. I'd go as far as saying that if Sanchez get get 3 tuddies on the board it should be enough in any game. Their D reminded me of Florida State in the early '90's when they had robots that would shuttle in and out of the game with no loss of talent.

Bama will continue to surprise us, much like her ability to still be standing!!
3. Never underestimate the Saban factor. I rode Saban and the Tide like a rented mule last year and banked some pretty good coin. I let the Clemson hype get to my head yesterday, and you see where it got me. Saban will continue to do more with less, I just hope the Vegas gods don't pick up on our little secret for awhile....

The Tigers D need to put down the drinky drink and get serious soon.
4. I was surprised to see Illinois get as many points as they did. I was hoping to see some good stuff from the Tigers D, but I guess I'll have to wait until next week. The Tigers will be in the BIg 12 Championship game against the Sooners, but they better figure out the D in the meantime cause they can't rely on Chase Daniels all year.

On to my pick of the day....

Colorado -11.5 vs. Colorado State

The Buffs are bringing some heat from....

Some things are too big to be ignored....

....the offensive side of the ball, and it will all start up front. I remember watching the Buffs roll into Ames back in the '90's and thinking that Iowa State looked like a high school squad in size, the Rams won't be any different today. The O-line will push around the front 4 of the Rams all day long. I believe this will start with dominance in the run game(hopefully we see some good stuff from freshman Darell Scott), which will open up Cody Hawkins to do his thing in the air.

Lets hope the Buffs secondary has been studying as hard as her....

The only aspect that I have concern for is the pass defense for the Buffs, they were pathetic last year and gave up way too many big plays. They will be improved this year, but how much is yet to be seen. I am banking on the fact that Hawkins Sr. will blitz feverishly and not give the Rams enough time to find the deep route.

And before I go, I wanted to leave you with my favorite pic from last year, and you will see her again, so keep coming back...

For the other football game today, my gut says that Louisville is going to walk in this one, but both have enough new players on each side of the ball that I don't have much confidence in it. I can't say that this game is going to tie up any of my cabbage, but just thought I would provide you a gut feel in case you needed a tie-breaker. Good luck today fellas!!!

Aaaahhhhhh, let it begin my friends. Even though the Seminoles aren't on my list, the FSU hotties are...

Teasin' T-Bone here, and giddy is a severe understatement to try to explain the level of excitement that I have going through my body right now. And after going 4 for 5 on Thursday night, I feel like I'm Tiger Woods lining up for an uphill 2 footer to win the Masters by 6 strokes. Okay, okay, I'm a friggin' football degenerate that gets his high from watching the cheerleaders sit on the guys hands when she is up in the air. There is so much action today that will pave the way for how the rest of the year plays out, so lets get to it.

Ain't nuttin' but a Hokie thang, baby!!

Virginia Tech -9.5 @ East Carolina

I fully understand that ECU is gonna walk through Conference USA......

VT brings the defense full frontal, and daddy likey!!!

....and they will probably end with an equivalent overall record as the Hokies, but last time I checked the ACC is a whole different world from the delapitated C-USA. Beemer brings back Sean Glennon, which will be key to provide a stable passing attack while freshman RB Ryan Williams gets his feet wet. Bottom line, this comes down to the Blackburg defense, and Beemer has obviously got some tradition here. It's tough to win when you can't score.....Hokies win 27-10.

Hey guess what? There is a pretty damn good football team at this school too!

USC -20 @ Virginia

Most people have fallen into the hype of the Trojans QB issues, and I will be the first to agree that every team needs a solid play caller, but in the last 10 years, has USC every been lacking in talent? We all know that USC is going to be in contention for the national title again this year, and what will drive them there is the defense. And the last time I checked their defense will be in prime form for the opener. So I think the Vegas gods moved the line about 5 points just cause of the Sanchez factor, but what I believe is that Virginia is gonna be so pathetic this year that the other 21 starters for the Trojans will simply dominate the game. I also like the teaser on the under, which would move it from 43 to 49, and with the Cavs not getting more than a touchdown today, I don't see USC putting up more than 40. USC wins 35-7.

'Pink'-el and his defense are coming backdoor on ya this year. They are the real deal, much like her...

Illinois @ Missouri -9

If you have read any of my previous articles, you know what I think about Illinois and more specifically Ron Zook. I truly believe that the Orange Crush is getting some hype they don't deserve, yes they will be in the top 4 of the Big 10, but this is a different Big 10 then what the nation is used to. The Tigeres on the other hand, are returning the core of their offense and all but one of their defensive starters. And so I continue with my theme for the day, defense will be the showcase today. Watch for William Moore at safety for the Tigers, he plucked 8 picks last year and also has the build to play linebacker, he will simply be flying to the ball today and could be the guy that shuts down Juice. We will continue to see Daniels and Maclin dominate, but that is nothing new. Tigers go big....35-17.

TEMPLE OWLS (-7) @ ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS
Before losing Sr. QB Adam DiMichele to a broken leg in ’07 the Owls were shocking the world (not that shocker Homeboys) with a three game win streak in October. With the heart & soul of their squad out, Temple proceeded to lose three of their final four games.

BTW...coincidence that the hottest hooters girl of my lifetime is named MICHELLE-click me!...I think not 'O Gamblin Gods!

Despite the poor finish, optimism has never been higher in Philadelphia as the fifth-year signal caller will be taking snaps again along with 21 other returning starters. And what better way to kick-off the potential miracle .500 season than against the Black Knights of Army. After another miserable season (3-9), 2nd-year coach Stan Brooks decided returning to their option-roots, last employed in 2000, might keep him around a little longer. Considering they only have four starters returning on the offensive side of ball, what better time to teach the triple-choice attack. While the option may prevent some of the blow-outs Army has partaken in throughout the 21st century, my guess is it’ll take some time for the correct personal to be in place. As for the defensive, they were near the bottom in almost every statistical category in the nation last year and only return five starters. Tonight, look for Temple to build on a few early tuddies & run away in the 2nd half.

Final Score: TEMPLE 31 ARMY 13

MINNESOTA TWINS (-165) @ OAKLAND A’s
Anytime your 27 year-old pitcher has only logged 38 career innings, you know the GM has been part of a fire sale. Southpaw Dan Meyer (0-2, 5.95) has looked the part of a career minor leaguer and been ever worse at home with an ERA close to 12. As for the Twinkies, they are desperate to regain their early August form and should look sharp with Kevin Slowey posting a career high in Ks against the A’s earlier this month in an easy victory...Twins by a couple

...just like TILA'S effort in Season Two of Shot at Love, da Bears have been playin without passion this Preseason!

CHICAGO BEARS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS (-3)
While nobody expected much from the listless Bears this season, the Dawg Pound has gone ape-shit over the Browns struggles thus far and every media outlet in that fine city (wink-wink) is acting like this is a must win. I know it’s only exhibition, but with the expectations leading into the season for Romeo & Co., I’m convinced they’ll do whatever it takes to appease the masses…especially at home. As for the Bears, Lovie’s theory on preseason is strictly to stay healthy, and as a result, the Midgets of the Midway have played like these are flag football contests. The OL is in shambles for Ron Turner’s offense, and without much depth, watch as Sexy Little Rexy & Calib the Hero Hanie are assisted by a bunch of practice squad talent for three quarters. Especially with this being the finale and only series or two of play for anybody near the top of the depth chart for Chicago, trust me when I tell you the Bears had absolutely no desire to fly out to Cleveland.

Final Score: BEARS 17 BROWNS 30

It's finally here Homeboys...let's have some fun!

WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS (-12.5) @ BAYLOR BEARS
I know it is the opening day of college football and I’m already on the road favorite, but besides the Deacons getting used the Waco weather, I can’t see how they don’t thrash the Big 12’s usual cellar-dweller. Wake Forest quietly has turned into a powerhouse in the ACC with 20 wins over the last two years, and in my humble/correct opinion, has the best coach on the college gridiron in Jim Grobe. Their defense was dominate at times last season and is returning nine starters, while the offense scored more than 30 points 7 times last season under the direction of two year starter Riley Skinner. The Jr. signal-caller is the epitome of a cool-cat under pressure, and while he’s comparable of turning the ball over at times, he always seems to bounce back with a steady drive.

Fr. phenom Josh Adams broke out for 169 yards & 2 tuddies against Florida St. last year. Think he'll do alright vs Baylor?

While skeptics will tell you the O-Line has been completely revamped, Grobe and his staff have turned Wake into a powerhouse by recreating a deep-pipeline of talent in the trenches since taking over in 2001. Adding in the attack will be ACC Rookie of the Year and 2nd team All-ACC RB Josh Adams (953 yards 4.4 avg 11 TDs) who didn’t take the full-load until the 4th week of season. Sharing carries with the phenom will be redshirt freshman Brandon Pendergrass who many feel has the talent to be a superstar. While Skinner no-longer has do everything WR Kenneth Moore at his disposal, the Deacons have plenty of veteran depth...including 5th year senior D.J. Boldin, brother of Arizona Cardinals Anquan.

While some things are flawless, the Baylor Bears are not!

On the Bears side, following another dismal season (3-9) and a winless record in the Big 12, Baylor fired Guy Morriss and brought in Houston’s headmaster Art Briles and his spread offense attack. While Briles was a great hire and has been successful wherever he’s gone, he basically needs to clean house and bring-in his style of players. Opening the season under center appears to 5th-year Sr. and Miami Hurricane transfer Kirby Freeman. Freeman will be playing for his third coaching staff in three seasons, and while he does have experience, Briles has spent more time than normal grooming some of the younger recruits given this year is somewhat of a wash. With the shelf life for coaches getting shorter by the year, does it really make much sense to develop a QB for one year?

While the backfield returns plenty of experience...KEEP READING

The Bears have tried 17 different options at running back, and nobody seems to want the job!

While the backfield returns plenty of experience, none posses the style Briles needs for his unique attack. Running the routes, from all reports not many have grasped the new style so expect to see a carousel of WRs throughout the season. The new regime’s biggest adjustment will be trying to improve on of the worst defensives in the land. Considering they allowed 37 ppg last season, including 50-plus in 3 of their last 6, maybe it’s a positive they lost 5 starts from that squad.

The Deacons will shake off the cobwebs early and roll!

Tonight, look for Wake Forest’s hard-nosed approach on offensive to control this game from start to finish, while you have to expect Baylor to suffer through plenty of growing pains in their debut with the new schemes. Even if the heat catches some of the Bears during warm-ups, they’re too disciplined and too deep to let something like Mother Nature bother National Title hopes tonight.

Final Score: WAKE FOREST 34 BAYLOR 17

Just like Jessica White, the Dodgers have too much talent to get swept by the Nats!

LOS ANGELES DODGERS (-160) @ WASHINGTON NATS
While the Dodgers pissed away their playoff chances over the last week, tough to see how Torre & Manny get swept by the Nationals. Especially with the pressure D.C. righty John Lannan seems to face at home (6.27 ERA at home, 2.40 ERA on the road) and his struggles of late (11.32 over his last two starts), look for the Dodgers to put-up a nice crooked number tonight. As for LA’s young phemon Clayton Kershaw (2-4, 4.11), before his last outing, nobody looked as dominate over the last month as the Dallas flamethrower (5 starts -1.45 ERA w/ 29 Ks in 31 innings). Especially facing a line-up whose leading RBI men over the last week have been Willie Mays Harris & Ronnie Fatface Belliard, tough to see the Dodgers let another one slip away…Dodgers by a handful.

...this dude might be in some trouble in the Swamp Saturday!

HAWAII WARRIORS @ FLORIDA GATORS (-35)
* And Greggy G doesn't care how many Gator starters are out!

I know it’s only Wednesday, but I’ve been ATS-eyeballing the Florida/Hawaii match-up since June Jones mysteriously left for SMU. First-off, what the hell was the former Chargers headmaster thinking? He coached with a LEI around his neck on a gorgeous island with no expectations, and decides to leave for a Methodist University with a program that hasn’t made a bowl appearance since 1984 for a couple extra bucks. To-Each-His-Own I guess, but I think that car accident back in 2001 did some damage to June's noggin.

Not since waking-up religiously to watch workout wonder KIANA TOM was there been any reason to follow Hawaiian sports, surfboards aside, until Jones arrived to the island (BTW, watching Kiana's video & OTHERS makes me angry. How the hell does ESPN have 50 channels and no love for the workout girls...those sexist pigs!). Thanks to my man June, my two newts are named “Timmy” & “Chang”. That being said, maybe Jones knew this year was going to be a disaster for the Warriors with only four offensive & five defensive starters returning. Hawaii made a solid hire by signing a former coach under Jones in the well-traveled, well-accomplished defensive coordinator Greg McMackin, but considering the cupboards are bare on the coaching staff as well (June took all the goodies with him)…it’s gonna take some time.

At least in Hawaii you could try to distract the Gators!

And at least with Brennan to direct the offense...oh wait...

Sorry, didn't mean to do that...and u don't look like K-Fed.

So without cult hero Colt Brennan, his four starting WRs from last year, and basically the entire defensive line & starting corners, the Warriors fly across the globe to Gainesville to face an angry group of hopeful '08-09 National Champions. Nobody is stockpiled with more ridiculous size, speed, & strength than the Gators, and ever since Georgia scored a TD & proceeded to have their entire team run on the field for a dance, Urban Meyer looks like a crazy brother ready to kill a dude that stovepiped his sister. Throw-in Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and the slew of skill-position players that will be three times as explosive as what the Warriors have seen in camp, & I’d be shocked if Florida doesn’t score at least nine touchdowns.

Just like trying to use one hand to cover, the Warriors have no chance to cover using only one QB at a time!

On the offensive side of the ball for the Warriors, let’s just say Coach McMacklin might have some ill-will towards junior college transfer Brent Rausch because he’s the supposed starter. The poor sophomore has absolutely no collegiate experience besides a season at the College of the Desert (no joke, the College of the frickin’ Desert!), and will be opening his D-1 career in the Swamp! Seriously Mr. McMacklin, unless you’re lying about who’s starting, how they hell do you not open the season with one of the two signal-callers with some actual experience? Considering the Gator defense has been blamed for last season’s horrific three-loss campaign, I’m not exaggerating when I say this, but I can not fathom how young Rausch will have time to complete more than 10 passes before he leaves on a stretcher...and down 50!

Considering Timmy T & the boys are used to running through the big boys, the five returning defensive starters for the Warriors might be in a lil trouble!

The line opened at Florida -32 & already moved to 36, but don’t lose much sleep if it moves to 45 by the time u read this. Tebow & Co. will score a TD on every single drive until they're pulled early in the 3rd, while the 2nd string will be even sharper as they look twice as fast & strong with the worn down Warrior squad looking for the exits.

BTW, when you finish reading my Pigskin Pick, don't forget about my MLB ATS PICK & MORE HOTTIES FOR TODAY!!!

While some things look great in Red...Josh Fogg doesn't!

CINCINNATI REDS @ HOUSTON ASTROS (-1.5) (-130)
Hi, my name is Josh Fogg (2-6, 7.66) and Greg Gamble thinks I’m the worst ML starting pitcher this season. Unfortunately, while I’d like to tell him he’s wrong, I don’t have any ammunition to back it up. In my last five starts I haven’t made it past the 4th inning once and have an ERA of 9.86. Considering Bronson Arroyo embarrassed the Astros at home with a complete game five hitter yesterday, I have feeling I’m in for a long…actually… short night. As for the reason to give-up the -1.5 runs, I’ll be tossing against Houston’s ace Roy Oswalt who’s won 4 of his last 5 starts and sporting a 2.10 ERA. What else can I tell you friends, put the strippers and midgets to bed and bet the farm against my azz today! Astros roll by close to double-digits

Bet u won't see a fantasy team w/ these 2 rollin' 2gether
...unless ur facing Greggy G in the Bowl-O-Dicks league!

Similar to the 2006 season when I drafted Peyton Manning 3rd and won the league, drafting RBs just because that's what the gurus say has been a huge downfall for me over the years. In my opinion, considering it’s the most often injured position, I think unless you have a sure thing you grab the cats that will score you the most points. With that, here are the results of my First Fantasy Draft Sunday:

GREG GAMBLE'S FANTASY SELECTIONS TEAM #1

Just like my favorite Moss, just because you in trouble sometimes doesn't mean you don't have serious skills!

Round One (6th pick) – WR Randy Moss
Even though you know the Patriots will be running more this season, the one thing that won’t change will be the deep bombs to Randy. Unlike most teams that utilize a player with Moss’s ability down the sideline, NE occupied different areas of the field by running Welker all over underneath, Stallworth down the middle, and as the play developed Moss would be crossing the field deep to a vacated safety spot. Considering he racked-up almost 1500 yards & 23 tuddies in his first season w/ Gisele’s man, and most of the top-dog RBs were gone, I went with the sure thing…the most points available w/ the 6th pick.

Just like Owens, Aniston's had trouble finding someone 2 love her longtime. But regardless of age, both are still flawless!

Round Two (19th pick) – WR Terrell Owens
By far this brought me more hazing than Rex Grossman walking around anywhere within 1200 miles of Chicago. With the only four QBs I wanted gone and a collection of RBs headlined by the crumbling knee of Willis McGahee, I decided to have the best combination of WRs in fantasy league history. Trust me, on weeks when both guys have solid Sundays, I’ll beat teams outright with these ova-sensative crazy cats!

The combo of Brady's foot injury & Maroney trying to dispell the injury-prone label with a contract extension on the horizon means he's a Greg Gamble roster invitee!

Round Three (30th pick) – RB Laurence Maroney
I was absolutely shocked my SLEEPER pick was still available...what can I say, some dudes in my league are a lil slow. Want to know why he’s gonna be solid this year...READ THIS (scroll down for Maroney)

Just like $2 Labatt, Michael Turner was a steal this late!

Round Four (43rd pick) – RB Michael Turner
I’ll admit I was a little scared after drafting two WRs that I’d be stuck with garbage in the backfield. But once again, the players in my league dropped the ball and I grabbed a RB ranked much higher on my Greggy G Big Board. Michael “The Burner” Turner has been starter material the last few years, but unlike most, is rested and has learned the game behind the best of the best...LT. I know some are down on the Falcons, but Turner on Turf is like a wet waitress T-shirt contest at a Sushi bar...frickin' perfect!

While I didn't want to grab a TE here, just like when everyone else jumps in the hot-tub, sometimes you roll with the crew! (BTW, I wonder what #1 is doing?)

Round Five (54th pick) – TE Chris Cooley
Didn’t want to take a TE this early, but with Kellen Winslow drafted super early (by a cat from Cleveland, of course) the next thing I know there’s only one TE left on the board that I really want. Especially knowing I could find a comparable signal-caller to what was left a few rounds later, I shored-up another starting spot w/ a player who was 1st year starter Jason Campbell’s favorite target last year. Heading into his prime, Cooley should have a nice jump from last year’s solid numbers (66 catches, 786 yards, & 8 TDs) and doesn't drop a thing!

While you may not think J. Stewart is a legit baller, trust me on this one! BTW, doesn't he have little Chris Cooley in him?

Round Six (67th pick) – RB Jonathon Stewart
Actually had him ranked higher than Cooley, but with TEs going way too early, the potential rookie of the year (and almost my 5th pick) dropped in my lap. With Coach John Fox more comfortable with a power rushing attack, tough to see the 5-9 scatback like DeAngelo Williams stealing too many of the 1st rounders carries. Considering both rushied for over 100 yards last Saturday, worse case scenario they’ll split carriers...until little DeAngelo gets dinged-up, of course.

Last year Bulger was on his knees crying after a sack. This year, hopefully he's on his knees smiling after a TD!

Round Seven (78th pick) – QB Marc Bulger
Wanted Schaub, but he was picked just ahead of me. While not thrilled with the QB selection, let’s not forget he’s throwin' to Randy Moss & Terrell Owens on my squad…two tuddies and 200 yards will be fine to capture the title. Honestly, the Rams OL is much healthier this year and should have a balanced attack with S-Jax signed & Drew Bennett stretching the field alongside Holt & the underrated TE McMichael

Just like Ronald Curry, some things look great in a lil black

Round Eight (91st pick) – WR Ronald Curry
Finally a couple years removed from those horrific Achilles tears, the absence of Jerry Porter, Javon Walker still recovering physically & mentally from his life's misfortunes, and a 2nd-year QB that has a cannon, I expect Curry to quietly have a solid season as their #1 WR…and he also has a different bye week than my 1st two picks.

West Virginia's superstar Steve Slaton can be slippier than a swimsuit contest sponsored by a sun tan oil company!

Round Ten (102nd pick) – RB Steve Slaton
I’m of the theory if you’re drafting rookie RBs (drafted Jonathon Stewart), make sure to grab two and hopefully one makes a solid impact. Even better for a slasher like Slaton, he’s a perfect fit for the Texans offensive style, not to mention their other two backs are always hurt...and kinda suck (Ahman Green & Chris Brown).

If Bennett can get his hinny off the training table, he has the legs to stretch a defense!

Round Eleven (115th pick) – WR Drew Bennett
When healthy, the 6-5 Bennett is a deep threat with the potential to put-up 700 yards and 7 TDs this season.

Usually I'm all natural, but in some cases (like picking a kicker) I don't mind artificial things!

Round Twelve (126th pick) – K Nick Folk
While many believe you don’t grab a kicker till the end, since I’m confident in my squad so far, the icing on the cake would be a kicker who’s team will probably score a shit-ton of points playing in a kicker-friendly arena…you know what I’m saying Jerry Jones!?

Just like picking a blonde babe to win a surfing contest, grabbing the Steelers D is a safe pick!

Round Thirteen (139th pick) – D Steelers
I usually end-up playing defense week by week, but Steelers are usually a solid options when in doubt.

Just like trying to find some action, looking for a tat on the back is like Owen Daniels...a nice target!

Round Fourteen (150th pick) – TE Owen Daniels
Let’s see, grab a back-up QB that probably will suck and I’ll drop by week 2, or snag a lock for another position with injury troubles. The Chicago suburban kid actually caught 63 balls for 768 last season…kind of sums-up my kick-azz draft!

Buckle yourself in for this one 2night...should be a classic!

Milwaukee Brewers @ St. Louis Cardinals (even)
The Cardinals have been crushing the ball over the last week and know this series will make or break their postseason chances. Throw-in a little redemption from behind swept in St. Louis by the Brewers just after the All-Star Break, and look for their captain and the hottest hitter in baseball, Albert Pujols, to lead the charge. Over his career, Pujols is batting .382 with 4 HRs versus tonight’s starter Ben Sheets. Speaking of Ben Sheets, in his last eight starts he’s only added one win to his record, compared to five in the loss column. While the Brew Crew continues to play inspired ball, LaRussa’s newfound Ace Todd Wellemeyer has won three straight decisions, has a 2.13 ERA in his last four starts, and has only allowed two earned runs in 11 innings against Milwaukee this season. Add everything up, and tough not take the home team at even money tonight…Cards win the opener

I'll make this quick...WHO'S A BIGGER PIGSKIN BUST???
Everyone wants to know - MATT LEINART or JENN STERGER

I'm not saying droopy eyes doesn't know how to have fun...

I'm just wondering if he's a bigger football bust than Jenn...

Listen, I’ve been known to have a few too many cocktail and make a fool of myself with regularity over the years, but when it came time to get shiznit done, I’m like closer Jose Mesa…70% of the time I’m lethal. As for Hollywood Playboy, I’ve yet to see him have more than a couple games a year where he looks capable of being a starting NFL QB…and that’s with some of best WRs in the league.

Is the Red Carpet Reality Show Shagger the bigger bust?

Krazy Kyle Orton is a prime example of a party animal once hitting the professional circuit, but realized he was on a short NFL-leash and spent the last two off-seasons working out like madman and mastering the playbook. The major difference, Leinart’s Ladies were hot before the beer goggles and Kyle’s Kats were after. After another off-season of pictures with beer-bongs and nightly red-carpet parties, it was no surprise the Cardinals announced Grandpa Warner was the starter with Leinart’s performance in the decisive 3rd preseason game (4-12, 24 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs).

While your bad Leinart, you can't hang w/ her bust status!

Even playing in Pittsburgh, the Cubbies sit in the dugout just like our friend...on the edge of their seat with passion!

CHICAGO CUBS (-1.5 runs) (-120) @ PITTSBURGH PIRATES
Everyday the Brewers win is another day to play the Cubbies. After last season’s debacle in Arizona, this season’s dominance at home, and the 99.9% lock Bartman won’t be sitting courtside, the Friendly Confines need to open the postseason for Sweet & Salty Lou. After another solid weekend and series victory, the Cubs head to Pittsburgh to face a young squad returning from their sweep-full weekend in Milwaukee. Southpaw Ted Lilly hits the rubber tonight and has been mysteriously efficient since the arrival of Rich Harden pushed him to #4 in the rotation (7 starts: 3-1, 3.15 ERA). Tonight, he faces Yankee castoff Jeff Karstens (2-2 2.25) and while he looked solid in Wrigley to open his career with the Bucos (6 innings, 5 hits, & 0 runs), he’s looked more like the commodity a pitching-starved Yankees organization could do without in his last two starts in Pittsburgh (0-2, 4.85 w/ opponents hitting .302)…Cubs roll by 3-5 runs!

Sorry for the short post Homeboys...I had my fantasy draft last night and I'm still shaking out the cobwebs!

Now on to what looks to be a pretty interesting year for the Big 12. Lets start with the South.

She may be the only thing that looks better than the Sooners this year...

The Oklahoma Sooners are the clear favorite in my mind to take the South. With Sam Bradford at the helm for his Sophmore session, it will be interesting to see what he has done in the off-season. With all 5 lineman, and most of the skill positions returning, the Sooners bring back 58 touchdowns. To add to the firepower, the schedule absolutely lines up in OU's favor. They have a powder puff non-conference schedule, then they get the tough conference games at home(Kansas, Nebraska, Texas Tech). The toughest traveling game is Texas, who won't be the normal Texas this year....

Texas Tech grabs the 2nd spot in the south. We all know that Harrell and Crabtree are only the beginning of the scoring machine, but I don't believe they can make it through the whole year because their defense hasn't been able to last much more than 8 games in years prior. And as I mentioned above, they have to try to take out OU in Soonerville, and it happens to be the 2nd to the last game of the year, when the Tech D will be nice and tired.

3rd--Texas Longhorns
4th--Oklahoma State
5th--Baylor
6th--Texas A&M

The North looks equally as good this year!

North

The Missouri Tigers will walk away with the North again this year. Chase Daniels will continue his pinpoint accuracy and Jeremy Maclin will find the ball in more ways than we can possibly imagin. But the Tigers are going to make headlines this year on the other side of the ball as well. With 10 returning starters on D, and an offense that takes the pressure off, they should be able to really utilize their Tampa Two scheme, pin their ears back, and completely throw teams out of their comfort zone.

Kansas is going to be a force to be reckoned with again this year, however I do believe that it is going to take Mangino a couple more years to get the depth of talent that he will need to contend for a Big 12 title. The bad thing for KU is that they will be better than last year, but their record won't show it because they added Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech to their schedule.

3rd--Colorado
4th--Iowa State
5th--Nebraska
6th--Kansas State

Would these ladies equal a parlay, or a double parlay? My brain is starting to hurt....

PARLAY PLAY OF THE DAY

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Milwaukee Brewers -155(-1.5 runs)

Washington Nationals @ Chicago Cubs -175(-1.5runs)

Both the Brewers and Cubs are trying to grab the Central outright, and these games are money in the bank to them since their foes today have packed their bags for the off-season. CC Sabathia is going to continue his dominance since his trade, and Rich Harden will give up his 3-4 runs as the Cubs explode again at home. I could throw more stats at you that prove out my parlay theory, but that would be like Jenna Jameson saying that she needed more shaft in her to prove she is a porn star. Let this parlay fulfill your Sunday Funday and prep your account with a little more cabbage as we enter the football season.

      TEASIN' T-BONE'S BIG 10 PREDICTIONS

With only 5 days to wait for the beginning of the young kids pigskin season, I'm pretty sure I'm feeling exactly like Mike Tyson(watch this TYSON VIDEO) did when he was 5 days from being released from the pokey, except he was excited to rape and pillage more ladies, I simply want to watch some football. Now on to how the Big 10 will piece together by the end of the year...

I can't believe they all named their lady parts 'Michigan', and I always listen to what women say, or write...
Big 10 Champion: Ohio State Buckeyes
I know I'm not going out on a limb here, and I believe this is the easiest champion prediction in the last dozen years for this conference. Ohio State should be an example to the rest of the nation of what can happen when you allow a good coach the time to build his team. It's not like Tressel needed much time, but the way he has stayed on top is a testament to him getting the right players on his team, building relationships with them, and running the team like a business. The Buckeyes go undefeated this year and get the elusive national trophy.

Badger Red is never a bad thing....
#2 Wisconsin Badgers
I have seen many experts put Illinois in front of their northern foes, but Bielema and his team is too damn good. First, Bielema is showing that he won't allow nonsense on his team by releasing RB Lance Smith from the team. Most teams put the kid on a 3 game suspension, Bielema dumps him, and I love the message that sends to everyone that cares. I also believe they have a darkhorse in Allan Evridge at QB. On paper he looks like a typical 5th year clip board holder, but lets not forget that he set freshman passing records at K-State in 05, and has had a couple years to learn this system. A mature QB can go a long way.

Hey, they are better than staring at men, so just enjoy.
#3 Penn State Nittany Lions
By default of a better home schedule, I put Paterno in front of Zook. PSU needs to pick a QB soon and try to put together a similar LB core that they had last year, and both could be tough tasks, however they bring back enough at all other positions to carry them through, and they get Zook's orange crusaders in Happy Valley.

Without a horse in the backfield like Mendenhall, Juice will struggle....
#4 Illinois Fighting Illini
All the rumors say that Juice is going to be more of a passer this year. He better be since he can't just turn and give the ball to Mendenhall anymore. I agree that Juice creates some plays that many other QB's can't, but I just don't believe yet that Zook is actually good enough to build a program that competes among the elite of the Big 10. Even though I'm not a huge fan, I do feel sorry for them because of where they need to travel this year(#6 Mizzou, #20 Penn St, Michigan, and #13 Wisconsin). They do get the Buckeyes at home, but that doesn't really matter. So I see them w/ 4 conference losses and 5 total, a 7-5 record is more like the Ron Zook team that I am used to seeing.

Mediation and focus may get these teams a bowl bid, but I'd rather pack up the season a month early and take her instead!!
#5-7
Michigan Wolverines--Rodriquez will have them contending for a bowl bid
Purdue Boilermakers--Top QB in the conference will win a couple more than expected
Iowa Hawkeyes--No returning RB's, a beat up WR crew, and a 53% passing QB

#8-11
Instead of reading about the cellar dwellers of the Big 10, THIS CLIP of lovely ladies is much more interesting.

MLB PICK OF THE DAY

SD Padres @ SF Giants +138(-1.5runs)

Much like these 2 teams, she's ready for the off season and sleep in her own bed....

Here is the thing about this game, I got blasted last weekend by the Pads bringing up a minor leaguer from Portland, and yet again they bring up another today with Dirk Hayhurst. I'm thinking to myself, if these guys were this good all year, why not bring them up when SD was still sniffing a playoff bid. The answer....they aren't that good. And with Zito on the mound for the Giants, even though he hasn't had the best 08, he is still a hard throwing lefty, this will mean good things for the home team. Giants win 7-3.
